Ying Yi Chua
Singapore-born photographer, established Ying Yi
Photography in 2006. This Singapore-based photographic
studio specializing in architecture, interior, landscape
and urban photography, working with 4x5 large format,
medium format and 35mm cameras. Post-production work is
carried out digitally.
He is a WSQ (Workforce Skills Qualifications) Singapore
certified workplace learning facilitator/trainer. He
holds the ACLP (Advanced Certificate in Learning and
Performance) from the Institute For Adult Learning
Singapore (IAL) of Singapore University of Social
Sciences (SUSS), certified by SkillsFuture Singapore
(SSG).
He holds a degree in bachelor of arts in architecture
from the National University of Singapore and is
passionate about the arts and design. After a stint in
London where he pursued a professional photography
course, he spent 2 years working in Beijing.
He holds the Master of Arts in Fine Arts degree from
Goldsmiths' College University of London through Lasalle
College of the Arts Singapore. He is exploring
possibilities of expanding his photographic
methodologies in fine arts. He embraces the
meaninglessness, and enjoys the contradictions of

His professional experience in various fields is chiefly
related to the aesthetics of images. He has worked as
part of film crew for TV broadcast in various programs,
a freelance photographer, a translator and an art buyer
for a major 4A advertising firm.

"Urbanscapes: Contemplations on the Meaninglessness of

Venice, Italy at the 6th edition of the ECC
Architecture Biennial Exhibition, Time Space Existence
from 20th May to 26 November 2023, during the Venice
Architectural Biennale.
He is a winner for the PDN Photo Anuual 2014 in
Corporate/Self Promo catergory.
